HealthCare Partners Cares

Engaging in community service and supporting initiatives that care for individuals in need is an important part of our HCP culture. Our Employee Activities Committee works together to identify causes that need support - and together with our HCP team members gather donations, collect supplies and raise awareness for the cause and its organization.

Some of the charities close to our hearts in 2018 included:

ALS Association: Employees wore their favorite team and players sports jerseys in exchange for a donation. Monies received by ALS were used for research, public education, and care and support for those living with Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

American Cancer Society:
HCP raised over $4,000 in a number of fundraising events for “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer”. The biggest event was our very successful Flapjack Pancake Breakfast, where we sold over 100 tickets to raise money to increase awareness about breast cancer.

American Red Cross
: At least once a year, employees have donated blood during our annual blood drive. In addition, we helped support hurricane relief efforts by supplying non-perisble food, clothing, and toiletries.

Department of Social Services – Adopt-a-Family:
Through our giving tree and basket raffles, HCP raised over $2,000, providing a family in need with a new bunk bed, outfits, shoes, toys and gift cards to local stores.

John Thiessen’s Children’s Foundation:
HCP employees purchased school supplies which were distributed to underprivileged children from the NY metro areas. Backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, folders and other schoolroom necessities were collected.

Marcum Workplace Challenge:
Over 100 employees raced to the finish line during Marcum - a 3.5 mile run/walk for charity. Beneficiaries of the raised funds were distributed among Long Island non-profits for children and animals.

Red Nose Day:
Employees purchased and showcased their red noses to raise awareness and money towards the mission of ending child poverty.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation for Pediatric Cancer:
Employees volunteered to shave their heads to raise money on behalf of pediatric cancer research.

Sunrise Day Camp:
The HCP staff laughed together at a comedy event held to raise funds for the world’s first full-summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, provided free of charge. Over $1,750 was donated to the Sunrise Association, whose mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer.
